Fashion Friday with Etsy Vintage - A New York Condo

Last week I spent an amazing four days, with my sister-in-laws, in New York City. We had the very best time. I fell in love with the city, the people, the history and the shopping. I was fortunate enough to find an amazing condo in New York (actually the New York Times found it, I'm just writing about it) which is what I choose to recreate today.
Here's the condo, isn't it lovely?...

Bust/Statue: Beautiful Boy Bust Statue $24.99

A special thanks to Angelo Surmelis as you were the one who first introduced me to this apartment.

These streets will make you feel brand new, these lights...

Just a quick post to let you know I will be in New York for the next few days. Unfortunately my laptop is "under the weather" so it will not be making the trip with me (I know, I feel naked without a computer). More then likely I will not be able to post a Fashion Friday. However, check back with the Happy Day Vintage Facebook page often as I will be posting pics from New York there.
Until next time...

Post for Hot Mama

Hello Hot Mama -
I am a Facebook fan and saw the following post from Hot Mama:

Hot Mama needs your help! We are looking for some new locations for Hot Mama photo shoots. Does anyone in the Twin Cities have a hobby farm or a chic, urban pad with a view? Yes, I am serious!

I wanted to show you a couple great pics I had taken by Stacey Montgomery. The following pics were taken around the Lakeville, Apple Valley and Farmington metro area. Take a look...

In addition I know of a new construction company called Stone Cottage Construction who would be willing to lend out their homes or lots for a photo shoot.
Hope this helps!

Fashion Friday - Compare and Contrast

Hello Everyone. It's been awhile since I've done a blog post and believe you me, I've missed it. I'm back now and with my favorite type of blog posts... compare and contrast. In this specific post I'm comparing the price and quality of dressforms from different shops.
First up we have the small dressforms.
Left: Pottery Barn calls theirs "Dress Frame Jewelry Holder". The PB Jewelry Holder has a listed price of $59.00. It comes in the two colors you see in the photo.
Right: The "Shortie" made by yours truly. She comes in hundreds and hundreds of colors and and patterns. Each Shortie is unique and made to the customers wishes. The Shortie comes with an endless variety of accessories (such as the belt and flower in the pic above) and has a listed price of $55.00.

Here are a few more color options for the Shortie. Again... there are hundreds and hundreds of shapes patterns and styles to pick from. Your options are endless.

And then we have the full size dress forms (see pic below)
Featured above are different dressforms from three different shops.
Left: The Dress Form from Pottery Barn. She retails for $199.00 and come in two colors as shown above.
Middle: The Dressmaker's Form from Restoration Hardware. She comes in one colors and retails for $699.00 (no, that is not a typo )
Right: The "Hot Mama" by Dressforms by Dana of Happy Day Vintage. She comes in an endless variety of colors and patterns. She retails at $112.00
