For a long time I've wanted to refurbish vintage furniture. I've done a couple pieces for my home but nothing major. Unfortunately I have yet to figure out a way to cheaply and easily ship furniture. Therefore I will not be upcycling furniture for HDV. However, I've found a way to refurbish on a much smaller scale. I have started upcycling vintage wood jewelry boxes.
Before Photo:
I love these! Each box is unique, each one tells a story, and each box offers plenty of storage for jewelry. But they don't stop there. I have a refurbished box on my desk. It keeps my office supplies beautifully organized. My daughter has chosen a box which I will refurbish for her bedroom. She will use it for all her special keepsakes such as polly pockets, hair supplies, chapstick, stickers and whatever else she finds valuable on that particular day.
Not all of the boxes in the above pictures have been listed on HDV, but they will be. I also have a few wood boxes I have yet to refurbish to be sure to stay tuned to HDV for new creations.
Thank you for reading my blog

Have a Happy Day!

What a great idea to choose such personal and lovely items to rescue and repurpose. These will make wonderful gifts. Wouldn't it make the most perfect gift to have you redo Grandma's jewelry box for a new bride shower gift?
ReplyDeleteI'm going to suggest to my retail blog readers that these will make nice jewelry displays in shops, too.
Oooo, I like these a lot!
ReplyDeleteI have one wood jewelery box that I painted because when found it had alot of scratches and had been colored on. But painting quickly transformed it to beautiful, just like the ones you have made. I love the green 4 drawer it is so pretty!
ReplyDeletethey look fabulous all together. love them all.
ReplyDeleteGenius! I have a lovely piece that's identical to the one my Mom had while we were growing up, but I think I'm going to glam it up a bit to use in my craft fair display! Thanks for the inspiration...
ReplyDeletethese are darling and inspire me to tackle my mother in law's old jewelry box. What kind of paint did you use? Very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI did a similar wooeden jewelry box project a few months ago and I absolutely love it. Isn't it great?! Love yours....
