Mobile Home Monday -

This was actually posted for the first time last year.  It got a great amount of hits so I'm assuming you guys liked it?... thus I'm bringing it back.  Ok, truth be told yesterday was mother's day, we were out of the house all day and I didn't get a chance to post a new Mobile Home Monday so I'm re-posting.
I hope all the Moms, sisters, friends, aunts, caregivers, god moms, etc... had a fantastic mother's day!

Fashion Friday - Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby starts today! As mentioned in a previous blog post, I love the traditions that carry out year after year during the Run for the Roses. Here are a few vintage Kentucky Derby pictures I found from years past. I love the clothes!

Upcycled Thursdays - Cake Stands

I love this idea! It's been on my "to do" list for sometime now. Someday I'll get around to it but for now I'll share the photos that bring me inspiration...

Tuesday - Inspirational Vintage Interior, Spring Table Settings

For me great decor is an eclectic mix of old and new. It's not always about buying what the store sells as a matching set.  It's about buying single pieces that make YOU happy.  It's about using what you have and showcasing it in a way that makes everything flow together.
This week I decided to show a few Easter and/or spring Themed Table settings that use an eclectic mix of vintage and modern pieces.  I hope these pictures provide inspiration for your upcoming celebrations.

Behind the Scenes of HDV - Post Office Run

A couple times a week I, along with my two babies, make a trip to the local post office. I snapped a couple pics during this weeks trek.

This particular trip was made after dropping my daughter off at preschool. I had a ton of boxes but never fear, my little man is a gentleman and more then happy to help his mama...

Inside we are greeted by the lovely postal service women, Mrs. Deb and Mrs. Audry,  who we have come to know rather well. Mrs.Deb always has treats for my kids.

I finish my shipments. Nolan picks his sucker and we are on our way. In a couple days we'll be back do it all over again.

Behind the Scenes of HDV - How I get my Work On

This week I've been creating a few upcycled items for HDV (more on that in another blog post). He's a sneak peak into a day of my "work"...

Here's part of my office/studio/kids-art-room:
Please keep in mind I was in the middle of painting, plastering, sanding, sawing, etc... my studio is not normally this out of control messy.
As I work I always have one or two little ones working with me.  On this particular day my daughter was playing at a friends house. My son sat next to me playing "bad guys". The jewelry boxes were jails where he would throw the alien fugitives.

Last but not least we must not forget about Murphy
(the dog who is fast becoming the HDV mascot after last Saturday's post):
When Murphy isn't sneaking though the kitchen trying to find food on the counter, he lays comfortably on the studio floor.

Fashion Friday - Let's Get Physical

As you already know I've been writing a lot about spring. Well today is no exception. As the warm weather gets closer the majority of us are thinking about getting into skimpy clothes wearing shape (present company included - although being a Mama of two I am no long going for skimpy).  Today's blog post features some work out wear to motivate and encourage the workout queen inside you. Spring is one it's way!

Forgive me for getting nostalgic but the Schwinn Stationary bike brings back so many memories.  My Dad used to run in the summer and in the winter he would ride a stationary bike EXACTLY like this one. He would crank up Olivia Newton John and crank out speed cycling for what seemed to be hours (he's going to kill me for this).

anyway,

Fashion Friday - I'm seeing RED!

With Valentine's Day right around the corner it's hard to see anything but red. Today's Fashion Friday is inspired by a couple 1950's photos found in Vogue:
