Upcycling. According to Wikipedia it's the process of converting (what some might think are) waste or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or greater value. In other words, a vintage lover's dream. I LOVE seeing what some people might think of as "junk" turned into something that is useful and lovely and looking new. Here are some of my favorite examples of upcycling that I've recently found...
What an adorable sweater. Lizzybrookes has taken a plain black cardigan and embellished it with this fantastic ivory vintage lace and vintage buttons. Lovely!! This one is $38.00. Check out her shop. She has some other really great pieces.
This adorable little coin purse has been made out of a vintage tie, $25.00. CCStar also has other great upcycled pieces, including cute snap bracelets made from vintage ties.
How cute is this little suitcase? I immediately thought of my daughter and how perfect this would be for a little travel case for her. Rachel at GetReadySetGo has all kinds of upcycled luggage with her unique personal touches. Check them out. This one is $59.95.
So I think I just found my new favorite Etsy store. I am in love with whichgoose. She makes these amazing hair pieces out of vintage dresses, combs, etc. I love them! This one is amazing. Made out of a vintage dress, $35.00. Makes me want to get married all over again...or at least have some sort of occasion where I can wear one of these amazing pieces!
And last but not least, in honor of Dana and her new puppy Murphy... This great elevated dog feeder, $50.00 by juliacuster, made from a vintage wooden crate. This one just happens to have "Murphy" right on it. Dana is off to go pick up their puppy this weekend! We can't wait to meet him!
So there you go. Some fabulous upcycled finds. Thank you for reading my favorite things and have a Happy Day!
